REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR STATE CUP AND UPPER 90 CUP FOR U13 AND OLDER

By Randy Vogt, Director of Public Relations, Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association

November 5, 2012-The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) is pleased to announce that registration has started for the State Open Cup and ENY Upper 90 Cup and for Under-13 teams and above in the Arch Capital Group Cup.

The State Open Cup (US Youth Soccer / ENY State Championship) is open to all teams but primarily aimed at Premier, Division 1 and Division 2 teams. The team entry fee has been reduced to $175 and this Cup is played throughout the spring.

Last year two ENYYSA Open State Cup championship teams went on to win Regional championships as well. Only State Open Cup champs go on to play in the Regionals with those winners going to the Nationals in the National Championship Series.

The ENY Upper 90 Cup is a new competition next spring and is for excellent teams in each ENYYSA league who are not Premier League teams.

The third competition is the Arch Capital Group Cup. For Under-12 and above, it is for travel teams who are still working to rise to the level of the best teams in each ENYYSA league. It is open to all Under-10 and 11 teams regardless of skill level. The competition began this fall in the Under-10 through Under-12 age groups and Under 13 and above teams will start next spring. It's sponsor, Arch Capital Group, writes insurance and reinsurance on a worldwide basis through operations in the United States, Bermuda, Canada and Europe, with a focus on specialty lines.

The team entry fee for both the ENY Upper 90 Cup and Arch Capital Group Cup is $100.

“We are looking forward to wonderful competition in all three levels of the State Cup,” commented State Cup Chairperson Barbara Rodriguez, an ENYYSA Hall of Famer.
