ballScore Reporting Process

IMPORTANT: Effective 2010 All Game reports will be submitted on-line.

Before the season begins:

  • Each team participating in the CDYSL Spring Outdoor League was required to designate ONE person (with a valid email address) to handle score reporting on their team commitment forms. (If no information was provided, score reporting responsibilities are assigned to the head coach identified on the team commitment form - these names/email addresses were also verified at Mandatory Coaches meetings in March)

  • Each team’s designated score reporter is assigned a username and password to login to the CDYSL Game Reporting system. (If no information was provided, score reporting responsibilities are assigned to the head coach identified on the team commitment form) See Setting Up Your On-line Score Reporting Account above for more informaton.

  • Our new scorereporting system can only authorize ONE Score Reporter to report scores per team. If your email address was not authorized, you will NOT be able to report scores

  • Score reporters from BOTH Home and Away teams are responsible for verifying the accuracy of on-line scores/standings posted on CDYSL Scores and Standings webpage or for Non-result oriented U8 and U10 games, Confirmation that games were played.

What happens when scores are reported:

  • Once games have been played the score reporters for both teams have 4 days to login to the CDYSL Game Reporting Area to report or confirm the game score and/or add game notes to the notes area.

NOTE: Scores are NOT posted until both teams are in agreement or the Games Committee resolves a conflict.
  • The first score reporter submiting a score generates an email forwarded to both reporters indicating that a score has been reported from cdyslscores@cdysl.org

  • IF the opposing reporter agrees:
    • Reporter logins into the CDYSL Game Reporting Area to either Click the Confirm button on the home page OR uses the Report Score button to report the same score and add game notes.
    • When score reports from both teams agree: Scores will be posted automatically to the CDYSL Scores and Standings web pages. See Check Scores above
  • If no action is taken is taken by the opposing coach to verify reported score within 4 days:
    • Scores will be posted as reported by opposing team and locked.
    • Appeals must be forwarded to the CDYSL Games Committee for further action.

  • If score reports conflict:
    • Emails are again forwarded to both score reporters and the league.
    • IF they agree with opposing team ’s report. Reporter logins to re-enter scores, again once scores agree they will be posted to the website.

    • IF scores still conflict; the CDYSL Games Committee will take action to determine the final score.
