Games Committee Open Round Table Discussion on Games

Games committee would like to thank all the clubs that attended this important meeting.  We had a great discussion and take your suggestions very seriously.

Topics discussed by participating clubs and the items that CDYSL will implement for trial this Spring based on their suggestions:   Next Round Table Games Committee Meeting is January 20th - all are invited to attend.

1.  CDYSL Executive Committee has agreed to trial a one year Referee Payment Policy to assist coaches with the at the field payment issues.  We will be working on the wording for Teams paying the referee at HOME games only and will address all the issues that go with this. (This is a trial and will be re-evaluated)

2.  CDYSL Executive Committee has agreed to move to the GotSport scheduling platform for the future instead of using the current system Demosphere.  This will allow teams to use GotSport points and allow seamless movement through the registration, roster and scheduling process.  We should see an improvement in the entire process for clubs. (This is a permanent change for the better of the League)

3.  CDYSL Executive Committee has agreed to offer two later afternoon time slots on Saturdays, for our older U13 and above teams to avoid games not being reschedule or not completing their season schedules because of conflicts. Younger teams U12 and below may still reschedule games on Saturdays as needed. We will also give older teams U13 and above priority on the first several Sundays of the season. (This is a trial and will be re-evaluated)

Thank you again for your valuable ideas!

Games Committee held their second Round Table on JANUARY 20TH

New discussions with developing a Peimer group play

The main focus of the meeting was making sure all teams are placed in the correct Divisions for success

Each person at the meeting was given the task of investigating each age group team who competed in last spring travel, fall ball and indoor play.   We need the help of coaches to be honest in where they believe their team should be.

CDYSL games committee will now be tracking the scores of all games and teams that are beating their opponents by more than 7 goals.  They will present this issue to the next Executive Committee meeting for discussion on how to discourage teams from this practice.

The office will be emailing a Microsoft questionnaire to coaches to make sure that their team is in the correct division.

Preliminary Team Placements come out on February 10th and Appeals must be in by February 16th.

Sending an Appeal does not mean that the Appeal will be honored.
