Risk Management
ENYYSA and CDYSL is committed to creating a safe environment free from abuse of any kind. At US Soccer’s Every official member of all clubs/ league is expected to complete the SafeSport requirement. In addition, as per ENYYSA, it is required that all official club and league members complete a background check and Heads Up Concussion Awareness.
All adults over the age of 18 who appear on a roster as coaches, managers and/or players MUST complete risk management through their GotSport account. All adults named on rosters must complete these requirements. If a coach, manager or player 18 years or older does not complete risk management, he/she will not be added to the team roster.
Risk Management consists of three components. In addition to the background check and Concussion Awareness Training Certification, the Abuse Prevention Systems Sexual Abuse Awareness Training must be completed before participating in CDYSL and ENYSSA programs. All three components must be completed in order for a coach, manager to be put on a roster.
All RISK MANAGEMENT requirements must be completed through your GotSport account and the same email address must be used for all risk management components.
Once coaches/managers are in the GotSport system, they can access their profile, allowing them to complete their risk management requirements.
When they click on the DASHBOARD in their profile, the 3 risk management requirements will be listed:
SafeSport – yearly renewal with a refresher course
Heads Up Concussion Awareness – once every two years
Background Check – once every two years

SafeSport Training
SafeSport training must be completed yearly.
Note: It is not from the date you did it but rather the session ENYYSA has set. The ENY expiration date is set at July 1 to ensure all coaches are cleared for the upcoming season. If you completed your SafeSport before June, you would need to do it now for the upcoming fall season as it would be impossible for our leagues to monitor everyone’s risk management eligibility if a coach’s expiration dates expire at various times.
Note, though, that if a coach already has taken training in the past and has an account, they should log in here: https://safesporttrained.org/#/public-dashboard. This is all broken down in the instructions as current users who use the new user link will run into issues.
