NEW YORK STATE INTERIM GUIDENCE (6/18).

We highly suggest taking a look at the full state guidelines regarding return to play here and please look out for futher guidence from Eastern New York Soccer Association.

Eastern New York will put out futher guidence shortly, however in the interim please see guidelines set forth by New York state. Please note that these guidelines currently state that there should be absolutely no moderate or higher risk sports practices until July 6th at the earliest. Soccer is categorized as a moderate risk sport. The return date is subject to change based on the phased reopening and local ordinance.

CDYSL RETURN TO PLAY (updated 5/20)

The CDYSL office has received several emails and calls about a return-to-play date and tryout dates for the 2020- 2021 season.  It appears that there is a lot of misinformation being circulated about when clubs may start practice and competing once restrictions are lifted in our area. With the Capital District now in Phase I of the State's Reopening Plan,  CDYSL would like to provide an update on potential start dates, measures and likely restrictions.

Recreational Sports (youth soccer) falls under Phase 4 of the State's reopening plan. If all the criteria in terms of business protocols and numerical targets are reached in regard to consistent declines in the number of Covid-19 cases throughout the Capital District, the best case scenario we can estimate at this point would be that soccer training activities could begin in early July.  Although CDYSL knows many players and coaches will be eager to get back to playing soccer again, CDYSL's primary concern will always be the health and well being of our players, their families, and our coaches. Therefore, once soccer activities begin, there will be a staged approach to returning to competition and tournament play.  CDYSL will release these protocols in the upcoming weeks based on information gathered from medical professionals, USYSA, ENYYSA, state and local authorities.
